Christmas Giving

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Keeping Christmas going is fun. It is not just a day or even 12 days. The joy of Christmas should always live in in our hearts. At Christmas we celebrate the greatest gift of all and a gift that was sent by God to change the world, to change us. How can that be limited to one day?

Share something with me about your Christmas.

Mine has been wonderful. First it was my first at GSUMC and that made it very special. Second I love giving gifts. I always try real hard to give someting to the people I love that shows them how special they are to me, but also brings them great joy and surprises them. This year a gave a gift that brought great joy to someone very special to me. I can still see their face when they opened it. It was something that said you are special and celebrated a part of who the person is. It does not matter how big or small a gift is, what makes it special is the message it brings to the receiver, you are loved. Every time I remember my friends face when they opened their gift, I think of the joy we should have in our hearts and wear on our faces when we think of the gift God sent to us!

That little baby is a gift from God that says, YOU ARE LOVED so much I give you my Son!

What special gift have you given or received?

Youth Retreat

It was a great weekend. We were blessed with great fall weather and a lot of fun. Tell me what you liked best? Did you see God in any of the surroundings, activities, or each other? What would you like added next year? Share a special moment of the weekend.

I had lots of special moments: everyone cherring on Anthony to let go and ZIP through the trees. The letters the high school youth wrote to the middle schoolers, eveyone sharing their something special at closing worship, the smiles, the laughs, and the whole experience of sharing a weekend with one great group of youth and parents!

God bless you all and thanks for a great weekend!
